1, the nature of different: air switch, also known as air circuit breaker, is a kind of circuit breaker. It is a kind of switch that will automatically disconnect as soon as the current in the circuit exceeds the rated current. Isolation switch is a switch device mainly used for "isolating the power supply, reverse operation, to connect and cut off small current circuits", without arc extinguishing function.

In addition to contacting and breaking the circuit, it can also protect the circuit or electrical equipment from short circuits, serious overloads and undervoltage, etc. It can also be used to start motors infrequently. The main feature of the isolation switch is that it has no arc extinguishing capability and can only be used to break and close circuits without load current.

Different functions: Under normal conditions, the armature of the air switch overcurrent release is released; once a serious overload or short-circuit fault occurs, the coil in series with the main circuit will produce a strong electromagnetic suction to attract the armature downwards and open the locking hook to disconnect the main contact. The undervoltage decoupler works in the opposite way, when the voltage is normal, the electromagnetic suction attracts the armature and the main contact is closed. Once the voltage drops severely or when the power is lost, the armature is released and the main contact is broken. When the supply voltage returns to normal, the switch must be re-closed before it can work, achieving loss of voltage protection. After the disconnecting switch has been divided, a reliable insulation gap is established, separating the equipment or line to be serviced from the power supply with an obvious disconnection point to ensure the safety of the service personnel and equipment. The line is switched according to operational needs. It can be used to divide and close small currents in the line, such as the charging current of bushings, busbars, connectors, short cables, the capacitive current of the switching equalisation capacitor, the ring current of the double busbar changeover and the excitation current of the voltage transformer. Depending on the type of construction, this can be used to divide and combine the no-load excitation currents of transformers of a certain capacity.
